HOCKEY QUEENSLAND TECHNICAL ACCREDITATION PROGRAM

- Nil pre-requisites required
- 2.5hr theory couse

HOCKEYED TECHNICAL ACCREDITATION PROGRAM

Hockey Australia’s Technical Official courses operate within the Australian Sports Commission’s National Officiating Accreditation Scheme (NOAS).

Pre-requisites:

Level 1 - Completion of the Australian Sports Commission's Introductory Level Officiating General Principles online course (see below for further information on requirements for Level 1 Technical Official Accreditation & completing the course)
Level 2 - Level 1 Technical Official, Technical Official experience in local competition
Level 3 - Level 2 Technical Official or Technical Officiating experience at National Championship level (incl. Under-Age)
 

Requirements to undertake a Level 1 Technical Official qualification
Please note - Candidates must be 16 years of age on completion of all the Level 1 requirements to be eligible for accreditation.

1.               Visit the HockeyEd site and log into your account. If you are new to HockeyEd, you can create an
                  account by filling in a few of your details.

2.               Once logged-in, you can register for the Level 1 Technical Official Accreditation
                  ($50, payable through PayPal) by clicking on Technical Official > Level 1 Technical Official. 
                  (Please note - if you have an umpiring accreditation, your technical official accreditation is
                  free of charge. Please contact Hockey Australia's Participation Coordinator for more information)

3.               Complete the ASC's Introductory Level Officiating General Principles online course
                   ** See below for instructions on completing this online course – THIS MUST BE COMPLETED
                  PRIOR TO ATTENDING A LEVEL 1 THEORY COURSE**

4.               Register for and attend a theory training course conducted by Hockey QLD

5.               Attend an eligible HQ Tournament to be practically assessed
 

Introductory Level Officiating General Principles online course

  • Contains three modules, which cover a range of general officiating topics, including ethical responsibilities of officials, preparation for officiating, safety, communication, dealing with conflict and people management.
  • Takes approximately four hours to complete and there is assessment included within the course

Enrolling

To enrol in the course go to the Australian Sports Commission’s Online Learning Portal
(You will be required to register an account (if you do not already have one) or sign in to your account to enrol in and complete the course)

You are required to hand in a copy of your completion certificate to the facilitator of the Level 1 Theory Course you attend.
